Ivelisse’s cancer Journey

Donation protected
In 2018 my mother Ivelisse,  had discovered a small lump in her breast. My sister and I hoped for the best but unfortunately after having a biopsy, ultrasound, and a mammogram done, the results came back as positive for stage three-breast cancer. The news was extremely heart breaking. I never would have imagined that my very own mother would be a victim to this terrible disease. However, her positive attitude is what kept us strong. The mass was too large for a surgical removal, as doing so would cause a probability of it spreading somewhere else. So she had to undergo extreme chemotherapy. Her white blood cell level dropped tremendously and she got very sick. Due to this urgency, we had to seek medical attention elsewhere and leave our hometown for a while. She was admitted to the ICU in critical care with a terrible infection and a very high fever. She had an infection in her blood causing her hands and feet to rapidly turn purple and her throat to be swollen shut. It was terrifying. She spent three weeks in the intensive care unit at the hospital. We did not know if she would make it or not, Thankfully she pushed through and was able to continue her chemo therapy. She was able to have a double mastectomy; removal of both her breasts. But a couple months later the cancer returned to her brain. Having to do radiation and more chemotherapy. She is still pushing through.

This is my mother. A warrior, a fighter, a women of great faith. She has shown me how to be strong and courageous. How to live with out fear and trust in the Lord. If I could make it all disappear I would in a  heartbeat. Despite her condition she manages to always face everything with a positive attitude and smile through it all. All of her treatments, procedures, and doctors appointments, She finds a way to illuminate whatever atmosphere she is may be in. Fuller than life itself, she continues to move forward each and everyday.  You will see her praying for other sick patients, her nurses and doctors in the hospitals. She has such an amazing big heart and has always gone out of her way to help others out. This selflessness and humbleness is how one shall be.

Recently, her car has been repossessed, which is the only reliable vehicle we have to drive to her doctors appointments and visit our home. In addition to that the roof of her home has fallen because of water damage caused by heavy rain this season.

We are asking for any amount which will go towards medical bills, and whatever exceeds that will go towards the damages in her home. Your support will make a difference so that Ivelisse can peacefully focus on her healing and not be devastated about her circumstances. Any amount helps, please share and help spread this story. whatever amount you can afford, no matter how small it is, will make a differnce !  Thank you so very much, God bless !
