The Prespa Agreement forced upon Macedonia by Greece and its powerful allies perpetuates Greek foreign policy that there is "No Macedonian nation and No Macedonian people". It is a long and complex legal document which needs to be explained to the people of Macedonia.
We are seeking small donations from the many Macedonians spread across the globe (especially in Australia, Canada, USA and UK) to enable the 28 civic groups (Makedonija Bojkotira) which oppose the Prespa Agreement to present an alternative view to the people ahead of the referendum on 30 September.
The funds will be used to hire a bus and driver and pay for fuel/running costs for the period leading up to 30 September to visit the regions and villages of Macedonia to explain the Agreement to the people, especially the elderly who may not have access to the internet and social media.The funds will also be used to publish and print simplified explanations of what the agreement means and its implications.
For example the current constitution in the preamble refers to "the Macedonian people". This will have to change to "the people of North Macedonia". Who are these people of North Macedonia and where have they come from?
Greece will have what no other nation in the world has, the power to review the books of a sovereign nation and review how it teaches its own history in Macedonian schools. Is it likely that Greece will allow the history of Aegean refuges and Deca Begalci to be taught in Macedonian schools?
The Agreement requires all references and statues of historical Macedonian figures to be removed. Will the amazing statue of Warrior on Horse in central Skopje and Macedonians number one tourist attraction, be considered to be a part of Greek history and have to be removed?
Many such issues need consideration and explanation, as well as analysis by independent legal experts. Funds will also be used to pay for international legal consultants to explain the agreement to the people of Macedonia.
We are seeking a Kafe, Pivo, Kebapce ($5,10 and 20) from every Macedonian and their friends/supporters to fund this cause. ALL expenditures will be transparent and publically disclosed and documented.
