Save Apollo’s Leg

This is our beautiful son Apollo who’s 5 months old and who’s very important to our family. Apollo got hit by a car yesterday and had his back left leg run over by the tire and had road rash/wounds all the way down to his bone so we rushed him to an emergency vet hospital (Blue Pearl) and they wanted a $2,000 deposit on the spot because they needed him to stay overnight to monitor him, take xrays, MRI scans and diagnose him and then depending on the severity he would need surgery and with that, sedation and all the other extra costs that come into play.  But that deposit cost alone was too much for us so we weren’t able to get him the treatment he needed. All we could afford was for his wounds to be cleaned and bandaged as best as possible and to take some medication home. After calling more low-cost vets and animal shelters today, they told us that the lowest they can do is a $500 exam just to get him looked at. And it will go up from there depending on treatment. The things they are recommending are much more then we can afford right now (X-ray, mri, checking his internals to make sure everything is intact, splint/cast, sedition, medication, etc.) basically just to get him properly looked at is going to cost us thousands of dollars, and the only thing in the world we want right now is for him to get the treatment he needs and not take shortcuts due to our financial situation that could potentially affect him for the rest of his life. I just finished having two hand surgery’s that restricted me from working for 3 months and left me with a lot of medical bills and debt so the timing of this accident couldn’t be worse. Apollo has helped me so much through my own surgery and struggles and is the sweetest dog anyone can meet. We want him to get all the help he can get to have a safe and successful recovery and we would appreciate any help that we could get, even if that’s just your prayers and positive thoughts.
