Acting Academy for Kids and Teens has been transforming and positively impacting the lives of over 7,000 kids and teens in our 8 years of service to the community. From musicals to acting classes to vocal lessons to professional recording sessions to TV/Film red carpet experiences, AA4K has been an effective and experiential force in the community since its founding in 2007. Our programs give students the opportunity to blossom in confidence and poise offering them opportunities to grow as performers in a fun, safe and encouraging environment.
Due to the Playhouse’s imminent closing, AA4K will in March 2017 move to our interim and temporary home at the Community Roots Academy, a public Charter School in Laguna Niguel. This strategic partnership is wonderful for a host of reasons, but foremost is our shared vision to see young lives changed through arts education. The Community Roots Academy Performing Arts Center can seat up to 350 friends and family members and will be a safe and exceptional space for our Academy’s young performers. Why temporary you might ask? Although very hospitable and accommodating, scheduling around the charter school will forever be a challenge in these high demand facilities.
As we look to the future, it has become clear that for AA4K to continue to be a positive force in the community today, tomorrow and for decades to come, we need to find a permanent home that is ours. What we do is truly unique: where else can your child star in an IMDB credited movie, perform in a full scale musical, receive vocal training and even record a vocal album in one location…not to mention meet lifelong friends, have fun and make memories made along the way?
Our vision is to secure a commercial space we can transform into an arts complex that contains a theatre, dressing rooms, prop and stagecraft rooms, rehearsal space, administrative offices, and classrooms for lessons. Your kids and teens deserve to be in an exceptional environment where they can stretch and grow as performers and find their lifelong love for the arts.
We are launching a capital campaign to raise $250,000 in seed money to buy a performing arts space. Although change is always challenging, this is an exciting time for Acting Academy For Kids and Teens! We’re forming a 501(c)3 nonprofit that will purchase a building, secure grant funding to expand arts education and be able to accept tax deductible donations. This takes some time to put in place, so while we’re in the approval phase with the State of California and IRS, we’re launching a [GoFundMe] Campaign to start raising money to buy a permanent home for AA4K. Will you help us get to our permanent home? We would be grateful for an end-of-the-year donation as we take the next step to move to AA4K’s permanent home.
