SAVE A MOTHER: CALL FOR TRANSPLANT
Arlene Dapar Quidet , was a domestic helper in Kuwait for almost thirteen (13) years. Last March 2018, she was rushed to Al-Amiri Hospital, Kuwait City, due to difficulty of breathing. Weeks later, alone and weak while confined in the hospital, she was informed that she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease. She was immediately advised to undergo dialysis. However, in Kuwait, only Kuwaiti nationals are allowed to undergo dialysis. At the same time, the doctor advised her to return to the Philippines to see her family as soon as possible.
Currently, she undergoes dialysis twice a week. She travels by bus for more than an hour. She has been supporting our family of 6, including herself and her husband. Three (3) of her children is still in high school. Through her support, her eldest daughter finished her degree last 2014. Currently, the only source of fund for the family is from her eldest daughter. However, it cannot suffice the medical expenses needed for her situation.
The doctor's diagnosis here in Cagayan de Oro was Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) . A chronic inflammatory condition caused by an auto-immune disease. An auto-immune disease occurs when the body's tissues are attacked by its own immune system. The doctor advised for a kidney transplant, as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, we did not received any government assistance yet, due to her outdated records with Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and Philhealth Insurance.
The transplant and after-care expenses will roughly cost 1.5M in Philippine money or (30,000 to 35,000 USD).
We humbly need your support in this most rough and long journey. Hoping for your generosity and kindness.
She's a woman who's humbled by her experiences and sacrifices. She's a mother who've done so much for her children.
Now, I am Quennie Quidet, a daughter who wants to save her mother.
