Sarah to Uganda!

As many of you know, throughout the past 3 years I have been dedicating a lot of time to service. I have gone on one alternative Spring Break trip to Nicaragua, and student led a 2 week trip to Nepal last May. This year, I am fortunate enough to have been accepted to student-lead another group of 9 students to visit the Malayka House in Entebbe, Uganda. I am so excited to immerse myself in yet another culture and soak up every moment!

The Malayaka House is an orphanage located in Entebbe, Uganda. It houses about 32 children, and employs local women. Education is available for the children that live there and the older girls run a delicious pizza business out of the Malayaka House. Because there are not a lot of job offerings in Uganda, these things are amazing.

While being a student leader for this trip, I am responsible for interviewing students who are interested in going on the trip, preparing for weekly group meetings and reflections, and being a helpful resource during stressful situations.

I realize that some people are skeptical while using GoFundMe, because it does take away 5% for their services, but it is a very safe site, and have always been super helpful. Any extra money that I raise, will be donated to The Malayaka House.
