Sandwell St George's Day Parade has been held in Dartmouth Park for over 20 years and attracted thousands of supporters down the years wanting to remember the glory of our patron saint.
Sandwell council want to charge for the use of Dartmouth Park where the main showground is situated and with all that the parade entails it costs a great deal of money to organize and provide toilets and security to safeguard supporters.
Do you want your English Pride to be suppressed by the small minded councillors on Sandwell Council or would you like the chance to celebrate amongst fellow lion.

Its with a heavy heart and much sadness to inform everyone that the Stone Cross St Georges day Event will not go ahead this year.
Due to increasing and additional costs from the council and other companies we have to use due to council legislation , the costs which have now spiralled out of control. These include now being charged for the use of Dartmouth Park, insurance, road closures, toilets, first aid, security, clearing up after the event etc
This is before we could put on any entertainment, in the past they have included the marching bands , the VIP guests the world war 2 spitfire the world war 1 trench children's entertainers punch and Judy , a beer Tent , face painters,' re enactors etc.
On a personal note we should all thank Parade founder/organiser Mark Cowles who without his for sight and subsequent hard work 22 years ago along with a small band of friends the Parade would not have grew to be the Worlds Biggest St George's Day Event we would also like to thank Lynne Whitehouse for putting on the event in the Park over a number of years along with all the paperwork a event of this size requires. Also to Snarka Whitehouse for all the work he as done over a number of years.

Give what little you can afford now to save the Parade, because it could be a thing of the past if the Council have anything to do with it!!!
