Sands United F.C Solent

Sands United FC Solent is a unique football team supporting dads and other bereaved family members who have suffered the loss of a baby.

We are a charity based football team fielding only players or family members who have directly been affected by the loss of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth or neo-natal death.

Our aim is to bring bereaved dads and family members together in a safe environment to play football, socialise and most importantly support each other.

With your support you will become part of one of the most inspiring and teams in the region. Through football we want to raise awareness around the subject of baby loss. This for too long has been a very taboo subject in society but also for dads and male family members, a subject that they have often found too hard to discuss with peers.

In many cases, this leads to mental health issues, relationship breakdowns and forms of social anxieties.

Each game we play will be dedicated to one of our babies and each player will have the names of their lost babies embroidered on their football shirts next to their hearts.

We will be joining a local Sunday league which will enable us to play and support one another as a team of but also to raise further awareness in honor of our babies.
