About Sanchia A Callender Inc 22870044_1539264038219392_r.jpeg

Sanchia Amanda Callender, BA, MS, LMHC
July 28, 1977 – August 6, 2017

We believe that the lives of people with developmental disabilities and youth in residential care matter. These are the people my late sister, Sanchia, cared deeply about in her personal and professional life. In her name we advocate for better resources, educate communities, and create programs to serve unmet needs. We bring together people from across Central New York, driving the change that will enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities and youth in residential care.

Sanchia A. Callender, Inc serves as a vehicle to continue supporting the people and work Sanchia did during her lifetime. Established in the wake of her loss her family set about building on her legacy of service, compassion, and integrity through the work of this organization. Sanchia’s compassion and dedication to providing service with integrity informs and inspires our work.

Funds raised here will be used to develop programs and services for our target populations.

Hi folks! I'm hard at work building this nonprofit from the ground up and it is not cheap. I could really use your financial support to keep the momentum going for the foundation. I'm working with a volunteer lawyers group to get the forms filed correctly for tax exempt status. I'll still need close to $700 in fees to file those forms. And that's before we get to the nitty-gritty of the of the foundation's first year budget. Please consider giving to support this outreach to people with developmental disabilities and youth in residential care.

Hi everyone! We've submitted the first of several forms necessary to legally establish the nonprofit. The foundation website is up, www.sanchia.org. It's a work a progress so let us know what you think. Volunteers are working on our first project spreading holiday cheer in Sanchia's memory. We also have another awesome volunteer managing a fundraiser for us. Thank you all for your support in making this happen! Please consider donating to keep the good works going.
