Hello everyone.
Drink, drugs and poor mental health almost killed me, that's a fact.
I had to dig deep, face my problems head on and fight for my life.
1 year ago I stopped smoking and 3 years ago I quit drinking and taking drugs.
I had been in detox and relapsed, ending up in A and E after drinking on antabuse (a drug used to treat alcoholism),
It hasn't been easy and i know this isn't the right root for everyone. I had to cut down drinking slowly then stop and then go cold turkey off the drugs as it was that or death, I chose life and I'm so glad I did.
Exercise in my opinion is a game changer to helping with poor mental health and staying clean, everyone who is able to should give it a go.
I started small, I couldn't run very far but now this year ironman uk is well in my sights.
3 years ago I didn't have a clue what's going on, can't remember being in places and off my head with such poor mental health.
Now clean, happy, baby on the way, enjoying life finally and the most important thing for me is good mental health, and exercise has a big part to play in that x x
I'm raising money for Sam's warr;ors.
We are helping the local community of Horwich by putting on 2 exercise sessions per week to help people with mental health problems exercise in a safe and understanding environment.
We want to keep growing and reaching out to help more people.
We are raising money to train:
4 x run leaders
2 x first aiders
This is so our group can continue to move forward and help others.
Thankyou x x
