Sam's Pottery Studio

My name is Sam Parry. I am an artist and a teacher.

For the past nine years, I have been teaching art at a middle school in the West Ada school district and in that time, I have not only given my students the education and skills they need to create art, but I have continuously strived to inspire them and instill in them a strong appreciation for the arts. I especially look forward to the four weeks each semester when my passion for ceramics and my passion for teaching come together and really shine: I get to teach pottery.



As a ceramic artist, I know how time consuming and expensive working with ceramics can be, but I also know how incredibly rewarding it is to create a work of art that is both beautiful and functional. It would be incredible to be able to provide the tools, equipment and knowledge to allow more people to have that experience, so I am launching this GoFundMe campaign in hopes of starting my own pottery business where I could teach classes in Boise. Private classes, group classes, adults, and children... 


The money I receive will be used to get my own studio and business going. Money, will be used for a kiln, wheel, electrical hookups, tools, glazes, clay, and various other pottery tools needed.


Sam’s Pottery Studio would not only be a place where children and adults could learn pottery and express themselves creatively, but a studio where I could create, as well. Along with the personal satisfaction of making art, a working studio would also give me the opportunity to contribute more to the local arts community and as a skilled artist, that is something I value highly.
