S.A.S.'s CAMAC Residency in France
Donation protected
We are Same As Sister (S.A.S.), a New York City based, cross-disciplinary performance collective founded in 2013 by choreographers Briana Brown-Tipley and Hilary Brown.
Our collective are honored to have been selected to participate in a month-long residency at Centre d'Art Marnay Art Centre in Marnay-sur-Seine, France this April, to continue research and creation of our project, Odd Jewels: Beauty Under Mask.
Through a clash of manufactured images, sound and live bodies, Odd Jewels contemplates the influence of the male gaze and technology over the feminine and natural world, continuing our explorations in unconventional storytelling.
Although we have secured a generous grant from the Fondation Ténot for 1,400 €, we still need to raise funds to cover additional residency fees and travel expenses for us and our collaborators, performers Hannah Caggiano (NYC) and Kristina Hay (Oslo/London).
This is where S.A.S. would greatly appreciate your help. By contributing any size donation to our campaign to raise $10,000 over the course of the next month, you will not only assist in sending us to CAMAC, but also in the realization of Odd Jewels as an evening-length work.
Thank you for your support!
