Salt Cay, the smallest of the Turks & Caicos Islands (BWI) has been devastated by Hurricane Irma. The damage to homes and businesses will be extensive. The money raised will help restore infrastructure - roads, docks, fresh water system, public buildings, electrical hook ups, etc. The Salt Cay Fund will be the recipient, and was created in 2008 (after Ike and Hannah) for this exact purpose. Since then we have distributed over $20,000 for these purposes.
We would like to start collecting funds immediately, but will have to wait to identify priorities. We will provide progress updates.
My name is Jim Tew; I have been a winter resident and property owner since 1983; spending decisions are taken by a group of similar individuals, in consultation with the local Government representative and members of the Belonger community.
