On Monday, June 20 2016, Salvator (Sal) Giovanni Rose collapsed at home in an event that changed the Rose's and many of our lives forever.
Sal was rushed to the hosptial and determined to have had a ruptured aneurysm (this is when a blood vessel in your head begins to leak causing blood to fill your brain). This is when an army of prayer warriors, not just in the United States, but across the world, joined together to pray for Sal's miraculous recovery.
This culminated in Pope Francis celebrating Mass for Sal in the Vatican on Friday morning, as well as a first-class relic of St. Charbel being brought to Sal's bedside.
After 15+ hours of intense neuro-surgery, and receiving the sacraments of the Catholic Church, including receiving the sacrament of Confirmation on his deathbed, Sal was called home to Jesus on Monday, June 27th, one week after his collapse.
Friends of the Rose family decided to start this fund, due to the funeral expenses and the overwhelming medical bills and other expenses that they will be facing after the funeral.
So many have asked how they can help. No gift is too small. All donations will go directly to Mike and Barb Rose, Sal's parents, who have been a beacon of faith and inspiring example of trust in God despite this devastating loss.
Barb and Mike Rose and their family are members of St. Gertrude parish in Madeira. Sal was going to be in eighth grade. Mike is a teacher at Moeller High School. They are very grateful for all of the community's support and ongoing prayers that they have received this past week.
Update as of 7/1/16: Now 3 days into this campaign we have been asked by friends of the Roses to increase the amount to $75,000.00 as so many still want to give. Mike and Barb are tearfully ovewhelmed with gratitude to all for their generosity and prayers.
