The Hon. Sally Porteous is critically ill. She has a ruptured aneurysm. The surgery required is not available in Jamaica. She urgently needs our financial support to deal with medical expenses being incurred.
Please remember her in your prayers as she travels to the United States for this critical operation.
Sally Porteous is a dear friend of mine and the wider mandeville community. She duly serve in her role as JP and as Custos of Mandeville.

UPDATE ON SALLY PORTEOUS – December 15, 2017
Dear friends of Sally,
I would like to first thank you all for the unbelievable support you have given to help Sally and her family during this terribly stressful time for them all. Sally as been given as she said “a second chance†and is ever so grateful for that as well as the tremendous support she has received from all her friends.
It has been a long and hard process for Sally. She is making great strides but unfortunately will be celebrating Christmas with her new friends (doctors, nurses and other care staff ) in the hospital. I’m sure it was not what she expected but it is important for her to take slow and sure steps moving forward.
Many of you who have donated to Sally’s fund know me (Sister Susan Frazer, Executive Director of St. John Bosco Career Development Institute and Alpha Institute). I have been a friend – like so many of you for many years and was pleased to be able to do something to help in starting the gofundme account to assist Sally in a tangible way. I also knew that her friends, like me, would want to be able to help and that this gofundme was a vehicle we could all use.
That being said, I am now going to start withdrawing funds from the gofundme account to transfer to Sally’s account here in Jamaica (in U.S. $) which is what she needs. Gofundme does not transfer money to an overseas account so I am using the St. John Bosco Account first and then from there the funds will be transferred to Sally’s account.
I wish for you all a blessed Christmas and a peaceful 2018. I know we will all continue to keep Sally, Judy and her entire family in our prayers. That too is a tangible way to continue
