Alpine Honorary Mayor Campaign

Alpine Honorary Mayor 2018 has kicked off and I hope to win! This is chosen by the person who raises the most money for their chosen charity and/or organization. I choose to support the Adopt A Grandparent non-profit. Every dollar donated = 1 vote and we have a goal of $5000.00 by the time voting ends on March 29, 2018!

Our mission is simple: To provide a small stocking, teddy bear and gift (a $25.00 value) to as many "grandparents" as possible. We are working in the local area but hope to eventually spread our love to the world. 

​We have had the privilege of "adopting" grandparents through local San Diego nursing homes for the last 4 years. This rewarding event is centered around the Christmas season, as we have found that for some of our recipients it is the only gift they receive. 

​In the last 4 years we have received donations enough to support the distribution of over 1000 of these gifts! Each year the donations have grown from contributors that wish to help cheer up the lonely, needy elderly population.

This project was started by one couple, Larry & Sallie Brown, who just wanted to do something kind for the people in their community.
