Sadie's medical fund

Meet Sadie.
Sadie has not had an easy life. She came to Central California Labrador Retriever Rescue at age 9 with a torn ACL that her owners had ignored. CCLRR Rescue had the surgery done and although it was a long recovery it was a great success.

Shortly after Sadie was back on all paws she was adopted by a wonderful young gal, Doris, as a companion not only for herself but for her other rescue dog Riley. They hit it off immediately and have been best friends since.

However not long after finding her forever home, Sadie had emergency surgery to repair a shoulder ligament torn while playing with her doggie friends. The poor girl had to go through another "limited movement" recovery for 14 weeks.

While recovering from shoulder surgery, Sadie woke w/ half her face swollen and eye closed shut. Another ER visit found an abscess from an old fractured tooth. Surgery to remove the abscess, antibiotics for infection, and drugs for pain... Sadie hung in.

A month later Sadie started physical therapy (for her shoulder) to regain over an inch of muscle that she lost during recovery. She LOVED the underwater treadmill and the out of water exercises she was doing (all for treats of course!).

Sadie made great progress. Her strength was coming back along with her energy level.

However, in August something happened and Sadie went from running around to barely moving for days. After 5 hospitalizations, 6 ER trips, x-rays, ultrasounds, blood work, checking for ticks, tapping her joints, auto-immune testing and eventually an MRI, the vet specialists could only determine that she had some type of infection that did not respond to antibiotics. They added a second antibiotic and low dose of steroids, which helped until recently.

For the past month, Sadie has had multiple high fevers, lameness, and her left eye has completely swollen up twice. Through it all, Sadie's tail never stopped wagging, no matter how bad she felt.

We at CCLRR are asking for your help. Some may say Sadie is just a dog, but we all know the connection we have with our dogs cannot be minimized nor can it have a price tag attached to it.

Please help us help Sadie and Doris. Any amount  you donate will be so greatly appreciated. This note below is from Doris, Sadie's mom:
I'm hoping that a fresh pair of eyes by the specialists at UC Davis' Veterinary Hospital can determine what is causing all of Sadie's health issues.

Thanks everyone for helping my Sadie feel better and keep her tail wagging =)
