Graeme's SURPRISE 30th B-day Gift!

Update 18/05 ~~~ I promise that's the last time the amount will change! We thought we could get a student discount for the Cintiq, but it turns out they only do that discount for two or three things on the website, so we'll have to pay the full wack! As I said before, he'll get it whether the amount is fulfilled or not (I'll just pay the rest) and will be absolutely gobsmacked with it, so I can't wait to give it to him! Please contribute any small amount if you can; every little helps! I've managed to hold him off from buying it himself so he has NO IDEA he'll be getting it that day. It will be very exciting! ~~~
Update 29/04 ~~~ I had to up the amount to account for the fees they take at the end, but don't let it phase you, he'll get it either way! I'll be including a card with a list of the names of everyone who donated! To Graeme, from LOADS. It'll be the best 'from:' list EVER. ~~~
Now I know it seems like a lot, but Graeme has had a pretty crap year this year. As you know, he's been sick on and off for about 4 years now and it's like he can just never catch a break. I want to show him how AWESOME we all think is!
I wanted to throw him a party in December, but he wasn't feeling great and other parties were happening so he kept wanting to put it off, and then it just didn't happen!
This money will be used to get him a Cintiq Companion 2, which is a fancy tablet for drawing and animating. It's something he can't afford, but he's planning on buying anyway because it will mean he can draw and animate from bed and in the hospital. At this point, he is still not able to sit and work for extended periods, so if he could lie down, it would be a big help.

Right now he's working on trying to get funding from the Irish government to go get his last surgery (a repeat of what was supposed to be his last surgery here) in the States with the best doctor in the field. We aren't sure when or if that will happen, but if it ends up being during his final year in college, having the Cintiq will mean he can still work on stuff while he's away and when he's healing in the hospital.
I really wanted to do this for him to show him how loved he really is, because sometimes he forgets, which is pretty easy to do when you can't leave the house!
I plan on presenting him with whatever amount is raised (I'm going to make an oversized novelty cheque) at his SURPRISE 30th birthday party, so please pass this on discreetly to keep it all a surprise!
I don't know ALL of Graeme's friends and family, so if you could discreetly send links to this fundraiser and info about the surprise party in private messages or emails to anyone I've missed, that would be greatly appreciated!
