$350 of $20,000 goal

Raised by 4 people in 43 months
The children are our future!  Help us restore the historic Ella L. Jordan home in Pensacola, Florida. The home will be used to give  home to a new generation to increase educational achievement, expand economic opportunity, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of African Americans, while unifying the total community. Your help will pave the way for young people and the community to use this house to continue Mrs. Jordan's rich legacy.

The City of Pensacola's Federation of Colored Women's Clubs, Inc. was founded by Mrs. Ella L. Jordan.  She was a devoted club worker, community leader, educator, political activist, and a dedicated woman who worked for the betterment of the Pensacola community.

In 1929 Ella L. Jordan became the first President. In May of 1930 the organization purchased the home located on the corner of "C" and LaRua Streets for its club home.  Later, named in honor of Mrs. Jordan, the home was originally built as a residence around the 1890's and subsequently housed over four colored women's clubs that served as an important social and educational institution for the African-American community for several years.
