This small donation means a child like Carter can stay close to his family at Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon—a temporary home for families who must travel to Vancouver for their seriously ill child’s medical treatment. For Carter, whose new brothers, Emerson and Declan, were born prematurely and needed supervision at BC Children's Hospital, the best part of staying at the House was decorating cookies with Mom and Dad.
The Gray Family
Sent to BC Women's Hospital for high-risk pregnancy, Stacey gave birth to premature twin boys, Emerson and Declan. In need of heart surgery, Declan remained in hospital, while the Gray family stayed nearby at Ronald McDonald House. Thanks to the House, not only were Andrew and Stacey able to be visit their newborn twins every day, but they were also able to keep 3-year-old Carter close, and introduce him to his new baby brothers.

For over thirty years, Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon has been providing accommodation for seriously ill children and their families when they must travel to Vancouver for their child’s major treatment. The House serves 2,000 families each year in 73 spacious suites.
On June 2, 2014, the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Surrey Memorial Hospital was also opened. A House within the hospital, the Ronald McDonald Family Room serves over 700 families each year, and is a welcoming refuge for families of children admitted for treatment.
