My wife (Edie) was working at Coborn's last August when she started talking funny and the correct words were not coming out right. Then her back started to hurt really bad, to the point that she could hardly walk. We then decided it was time to go to the doctor, the first doctor did not take Edie seriously so we pushed forward for a second opinion. This one did a MRI,  and  they found a growth in her brain, we were immediately sent to a neurosurgeon and he scheduled the removal for 2wks from that day.  After brain surgery Edie defied the odds and they called her a miracle.  The neurosurgeon literally came running in to tell us she was awake and was speaking and was able to move both sides of her body.  She continued to amaze everyone around her and was sent home 48hrs later.   Her brain has had residual swelling and speech became very difficult along with some vision issues as well. She has fought so hard through the pain, and difficulties with speech and just being exhausted.  We waited for the diagnosis of what kind of tumor it was and were told it was a  grade 4 Glioblastoma.  Cancer.  The kind that doesn't have a cure at this point.   We were given many options and had to make many tough choices.  We chose to try 6 weeks of radiation(5days a week) along with chemo(7 days a week).  We knew there was no cure but we wanted more time and felt this would be worth a try.  She once again took it like a trooper and pushed hard through this long process.   As the weeks went on I watched my wife become very weak and that once amazingly strong person was slipping away.  She has worked very  hard her whole life being a wonderful wife to me amazing mother to our kids and grandmother.  Everyone knows that Edie has a love for horses and a green thumb that fills our yard with flowers and veggies every year, she was also a avid reader.   She is unable to do any of the things she did before.   We have made the choice at this time not to torture her body anymore and to enjoy the last months.  She wants to enjoy whatever time she has left on this earth and not be riddled with chemicals that make her unable to speak or move about.   Each day is a blessing.  We know that this birthday may very well be the last but are living each day as it has become a gift.   The money will be used for in home nursing so she may pass at home. Insurance will not cover 24/7 care.  When the time comes. We are so very thankful for any support that you might be able to hep with.    Thank you again from the both of us,
