Sam and Nick are expecting their 4th child and 1st daughter. She is 34 weeks pregnant and they are beyond excited but have had some trials throughout their pregnancy. Sam has been diagnosed with placenta accreta and is on bed rest while trying to care for her other 3 children. Her condition is alarming to the doctors and they have sent her to specialists in Dubois and Pittsburgh and have decided to do an emergency C-section THIS Thursday (11-12). Little Alyra will have to stay in the NICU for a few weeks all the way down in Pittsburgh. Their family is clinging to their faith to get them through this difficult time.
Sam will be having major surgery which will include her c-section that will cut directly through baby Alyra's life line since her placenta has grown on top of an old c section scar. The doctors have 2 minutes to get the baby out before it has consequences for the baby. Sam will need a hysterectomy immediately following the birth and the doctors will possibly need to remove the placenta from surrounding organs (bladder) if it has attached. It is suspected that her condition has progressed to placenta precreta.
Sam and Nick are going to be strapped financially due to the unexpected NICU stay, going to specialists, their stay down in Pittsburgh (hotel), Nick's time off of work, child care for their 3 children while they are in Pittsburgh, gas, and food while they are away.
The family has no idea I am setting this up and has NOT asked for anything. I have a burden to be a blessing to this family as they are going through this trial. My prayer is that others will join me in providing for them so they can focus on their family and not have the stress of finances.
