Rylee Maslock Cancer Fund

Rylee’s story is an exceptional one.  Rylee was born on 2/18/16 and received an injury during the birthing process.  She was later diagnosed with Erb’s Palsy.  Rylee has already undergone surgery on her shoulder as a result at the Shriner’s Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa.  She has continued with specialized treatment and physical therapy since the surgery.  This injury and the resulting travel to and from Pa. have already placed a financial burden on Dean and Brittany.

On 10/31/2017 Rylee was seen at the ER at Mary Washington Hospital for abdominal distention.  At MWH it was recognized that Rylee had an extremely enlarged liver.  They instructed Dean and Brittany to take Rylee to VCU for further evaluation and/or treatment.  Not long after her arrival at VCU Rylee was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, a form of Liver Cancer.  After further scans it was determined that the tumor in her liver is about the size of a tennis ball and the cancer has already begun to spread.  She now has several small spots on her lungs and spleen as well.  Since the cancer has spread to other organs they were informed that the cancer is in stage IV.  Biopsy results should be returned soon and chemo treatments will begin soon after.

Rylee will need to have several hospital stays and will be required to be transported to VCU frequently for chemo treatments.
