This is a goFundMe page for Ryan Goeke. Ryan is a son, a friend, and like a brother to his cousins. Those who know him know that he is a kind person, often putting others before himself. He would never hesitate to help someone, valuing friends and family above all else. He is thoughtful, patient, and strong.
Ryan has defied the odds at every turn in his life. At the tiny age of 2, he was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma: a rare, aggressive cancer that forms in the body's soft tissues. He underwent 6 weeks of radiation and nearly 3 years of chemotherapy. He beat his cancer. Later, at the age of 9, Ryan had a cerebral spinal leak as a result of his radiation treatments, and he had to undergo invasive surgery on his skull. Ryan recovered from the setback. Although countless rounds of radiation and surgery left him with impaired hearing, it didn't diminish his spirit and strength. Now, at the age of 31, Ryan is fighting a second battle with cancer.
Ryan found out earlier this year that a mass in his ear had formed, and we now know it is aggressively fighting against him. The tumor in his ear was removed, but not before it had begun to silently metastasize. After the mass in his ear was found to be cancerous, complex surgery was scheduled for early April, requiring two surgeons for approximately ten hours. More recently, Ryan noticed another lump at the back of his head. An additional CT scan and MRI revealed the cancer has invaded part of his brain. He is now scheduled for an extremely invasive, twelve-hour surgery on April 11. It requires a neurosurgeon in addition to the original two surgeons and, as a result, waiting even longer.
Ryan has not missed a day of work in 5+ years at his company and, because of cancer, he is being forced from work. Ryan needs your help. He will be taking off work for an extended period of time, and he will need all the financial support he can get to tackle his medical bills in addition to daily costs of living. Please donate.
