I'm building a school in Cambodia!

Donation protected
I'm helping to build another school!

Just over a year and a half ago, I went to Panama to build a school for a local community, in Bocas Del Toro.
It was such an amazing experience, that I've decided to travel farther, and help provide a safe learning environment for a community in Cambodia!

This is certainly no small project. Working with Surf for Life, myself and others will work daily on the construction of a new school facility. We'll get to interact with the local community and children who will benefit from the completion of the school.

Will you help contribute?
I've set a BIG goal of $6,000, which will pay for my travel and lodging expenses, as well as the supplies, building materials, and other needs of the local community.

Anything will help! I'm totally willing to exchange my time for your donation. Need man power for a project, or your own charity? Let me know how we can work together to further the love and education in the world!

New Hope for Cambodian Children (NHCC)
John and Kathy Tucker, an American couple, came to Cambodia in 2000 to work with the Maryknoll organization, providing assistance to adults who were dying with AIDS. They soon realized that, as the adults died, they often left behind children with no one to care for them. More often than not, the children were also infected with the HIV virus. Many of them were very sick and dying as well.

In response, they began raising funds to purchase antiretroviral medications (ARVs) for Cambodian children. The program quickly grew to become the largest pediatric HIV/AIDS treatment program in Southeast Asia, supplying more than 400 children with free ARV medications.

In 2006, seeing an urgent need for an expanded assistance program to support the 4,000 Cambodian children living with HIV/AIDS, John and Kathy founded New Hope for Cambodian Children (also known as "The Village"). You can learn more about their story here.

Project Overview
Currently, NHCC offers classes for student's from preschool to 10th grade. NHCC wants to provide education through grade 12. They plan to construct the 11th grade school house in 2016.
Hope Corps volunteers will build a 12th Grade School House at NHCC in early 2017. The build will be a 16m² x 8m², with a dividing wall in the middle to create a two-room unit.
