Luke Wise Scholarship Fund

I first saw this picture a few years ago, and it had a deep and immediate affect on me. As the years passed, and my own son got older, I felt more and more affected by and connected to the young man sitting, looking at a picture of his deceased father, the only way he gets to "spend time" with him now, and forever.
It's symbolic of the unfathomable sacrifice the men and women of the Armed Forces make every day for the safety of the United States, but even more than that, it represents the sacrifice the family members make. This boy did nothing to deserve losing his father, he just happened to be born to a very brave man, and a very strong woman. This scholarship fund is designed to set Luke up, so he and his mother don't have to worry about how he's going to pay for his education.
