Pete Amahl's (Amaral) Fund Raiser

On January 14th, 2016, my father Peter Amahl (Amaral) went into the hospital to receive a robotic prostatecotomy. As most of you know, he had been having issues with his prostate for the last 2 years (at least).  His prostate had gotten so enlarged it was pushing into his bladder, cutting off his urethra flow, causing him having to wear a permanent catheter for the last 9 months. He still managed to play his heart out when he performed, and most did not know how much physical discomfort he was in.

The robotic prostatectomy was a success, and a later biopsy relealed that the mass was non-cancerous (thank God).  On January 18th, 2016 he was released from the hospital to heal.  The following day, January 19th, he suffered a heart attack...

Angiogram showed that 3 arteries were blocked 80-90% and a bypass was needed immediately.  2 of his areteries were too hardened to bypass, but the bypass on his main artery was successful.  The surgeons had originally planned on doing a less evasive bypass on his side, but while on the operating table they realized they could not see the artery clear enough, so they had to open his chest.

The surgery was a success, but as you can imagine it's very difficult healing from 2 major surgeries, let alone for a 73 year old.  As of today, February 2nd, he is still in the Trauma ICU recovering, as well as fighting a bout of pneumonia.

I know a lot of you care for and love my dad... he is a pretty special person.   So many have sent their prayers and well wishes, and I have recieved many requests for a Go Fund Me account to help him through this.

As most of you know all too well, it's difficult for a working musician to make a living in general, let alone someone recovering from surgery.  I'm not sure when he will be playing again, but I have complete faith he will soon be as good as new, maybe even better than before.

So, any amounts raised will go to my dad for living expenses for the next few months, and perhaps a new (used/inexpensive) vehicle to replace his current one falling apart.

I love my dad, he is a wonderfully stubborn man... and after he's done being angry with me for sharing all of this with you, I know he'll be touched and grateful for any donations he may receive.  Even if you are unable to donate, please know that all of the well wishes and prayers have truly kept him going.

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts, you have all been so amazing <3
