Stop Yulin

The Yulin Dog Meat Festival, which happens every year on the summer solstice, is a "festival," where over 10,000 dogs are slaughtered and served up as meals. Often it is wrongly assumed to be an ancient Chinese tradition. In fact, the festival only dates back to 2009 when it was launched in the city in China's southwest by illegal meat distributors. Thousands of dogs, 80% of which are imported stolen beloved pets, are boiled and skinned alive, dragged on ropes, set on fire, raped, chased with machetes, shot with poisoned darts, and so much more. The sellers claim that the adrenaline that the dogs release from being tortured makes their meat more tender. This however is proven to be incorrect. It is argued that this festival is part of China's culture. Although some cultures do eat different animals, it is not part of China's culture to purposely torture animals. Over half of China does not know about the Yulin Festival, and most of those who do deem this festival "absolutely repulsive" and "unnecessarily inhumane." We must spread the word, and educate others on what really happens during the Yulin Festival, and force it to come to an end. Only together can we make change.
Currently, we are raising money to fund rescuing these animals, as well as vaccinations, food, and finding them a home.
