Rutgers Lost Library
The Writer's House lounge of College Avenue's Murray Hall is being transformed into a take-a-book leave-a-book, student run library!
We've got the books. We've got the room. We just need money to build bookshelves.
UPDATE EDIT: Please, please let's try to finish this with $700 by April 12th! Thank you so incredably much~
After getting jealous that the computer scientists and engineers on Busch get The Cave to do mad science, have a hacker space, make friends with similar interests, and play Smash Bros, I wished that us Liberal Arts students on College Avenue should have a similar place of our own.
I went to the English Department and Writers House with my idea and, next thing I know I'm an intern. My internship project is transforming the The Writers House Lounge, room 004 of Murray Hall, into a take-a-book, leave-a-book Recreational Library, basically a club house for Rutgers writers and readers.
I've got the books. I've got the space. But I need to fundraise money for the bookshelves, a projector for movie nights, and a basic plug and play stereo system for light music, audiobooks, and radio plays--and an actual library ladder
***TLDR: I'm building a magic book fort and I need about $1000 to do it or I fail my internship.****
This space can be used for poetry slams, marathon readings, hanging out, literary magazine editorial staff meetings, art projects, debates, birthday parties and bat mitzvahs, pretty much anything you can fit into it.
