Russell Simpson Cancer Treatment

Russell has been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  He is now facing the greatest challenge of his life. 

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Jon De Langis.  My wife Kathy and I have been close friends with the Simpsons for 30 years.  We are "Aunt Kathy" & "Uncle Jon."   About a month ago, I spent a weekend with the Simpson's at their home in Verrado, AZ.  I was there to play in the annual charity golf event at Luke AFB golf course.  Russell, his son Trevor, my Uncle Leo, and I are the usual fore-some (LOL) each year at this event.  We played three rounds of golf in two days.  Other than Russell suffering from his usual golf swing, he complained of an upset stomach.  This continued for the next two weeks at which time Diane forced him to see his doctor.  That was the turning point in Russell's life. 

The diagnosis is what no one ever wants to hear, "You Have Cancer."  This news was devastating enough until Russell and Diane learned that the treatments that he needs immediately are not covered under his current insurance plan.  So until July, when his new policy activates, they are having to pay ALL cash for all medical care.  Moreover, Diane is recovering from two hip replacement surgeries, the most recent about four months ago, which has greatly impacted the family's finances.  Diane, like Russell, is a hard-working dynamo with two professional careers in both dental hygiene and real estate.  We've always said that Russell and Diane are two of the hardest working people we've ever known.  Their children, Trevor and Jordyn, are doing everything they can in their young careers to help support the family.

This is where we come in.  Aside from the physical and emotional pain which lies ahead for Russell and his family, the financial burden of a comprehensive treatment plan is substantial.  Blood tests, CT scans, MRIs, trips to the ER (he just got home last night from three days in ER), specialists,  procedures, chemo, etc., etc., add up quickly, and the bills will continue beyond the treatment.  His lousy current insurance plan provides little help at this point.  With our support, we will give Russell a fighting chance to beat this invasive monster destroying his body.  The need is urgent and my ask is simple:  Please send your prayers and support for Russell, Diane, Trevor, and Jordyn.  We can help the Simpson family get through this nightmare and return Russell to good health.  If anyone can beat this, Russell can.
