Russell Rodriguez Memorial Fund

On August 15th, the world lost a true hero with the passing of our friend and colleague, Russell Rodriguez. This fund, in Russell’s memory, will provide care and assistance to the person who meant the most to him, his wife Nicole.
Though he fought long and valiantly, Russell’s third battle with cancer proved too much even for a man of his exceptional strength and character. And he was uniquely exceptional! Persevering and excelling despite an unfair share of adversity – an accident in his early 20s that left him a paraplegic, as well as multiple cancer diagnoses - he fought through each challenge as a warrior. He rose above and became a force to be reckoned with in competitive adaptive sports, earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and pursued a career within the disability community so that he could help others, becoming a mentor to so many of us.
Russell had a passion for helping others in need, even when his own needs became great. And when those needs became too great to bear alone, his incredible wife Nicole was right there by his side to lift him up. Russell’s giving heart met its match when he met Nicole just 5 short years ago. Their love was unparalleled and inspired all who were around them. Russell was diagnosed with cancer very early in their relationship, shortly before they were married. Nicole was Russell’s rock as together they fought and beat the odds, defeating the cancer. Unfortunately, Russ was diagnosed with cancer for a third time not long afterwards. Again, Nicole was his rock, keeping a positive, optimistic attitude and showering Russ with all the love he deserved.
Now, after Russell’s passing, it is Nicole who deserves to be showered with love. Help us honor Russell’s memory and giving spirit by giving back to Nicole, who gave all of herself to him. All donations will go directly to Nicole so that she can grieve and live without the added stress of worrying about the financial difficulties that can come from years of battling cancer.
