Running for Ocean of Love

To start off the summer this year, I’ll be running in the annual Spring Lake Five 5 race. I ran the race back in 2014 and haven’t run since, but I plan on trying to get in the top 10, if all goes well. But this isn’t about time or finishes. I’m going about it a little different this time around though, as I’m running for something much bigger than myself or a fast time. I’ve partnered with Ocean of Love which is, for those of you who don’t know, a non-profit dedicated to assisting and supporting Ocean County children with cancer as well as their families. Ocean of Love provides financial and emotional support for the children with the goal of helping them experience all the joys of childhood. Each child’s life is just as meaningful and it’s important that all the children are reminded and aware of that. I love what Ocean of Love stands for and aims to accomplish for children. It means the world to me that these children receive the support that every child deserves.

My main goal is $400. But I don’t see why that goal can’t be smashed. I’d love to be able cross the finish line knowing not just that I ran my heart out, but that all of it was for something greater and purposeful. Even if you aren’t capable of contributing any amount of money, perhaps you could share it and virtually spread the word as I hope to reach as many eyes as I can. The race will be held on 5/26 and I know each year it signifies the kick-off of summer at the Jersey shore, so for that reason and for however much money I raise, it will certainly be worth celebrating.



All money donated will be given to Ocean of Love, a non-profit, charitable 501 (c)(3) organization.
