Hey guys!
I'm Brendan Funk, and I am going to be the youngest person ever to complete the 4 Desert Grand Slam. Before my training for these 4 grueling 155 mile desert runs, I had little running experience. As in, I dropped out of Track in High School and the longest distance I have completed on foot was a slow, 2:45:00 half marathon.
After coming off a year of interning for the Barnabas Prep program, which acts as a collegiate program for adults with special needs, I decided that I wasn't done with the organization just yet. After a little soul searching, I found my races.
Here is my schedule:
May 1st-7th: Namibian Desert
June 19th-26th: Gobi Desert
October 2nd-9th: Atacama Desert
November: Antarctic Desert
But I need your help to do this!
The entry fees do cost money, and being a college student...I don't have money.
Therefore the money will be raised as follows:
Half of all donations to entry fees.
Half of all donations to Camp Barnabas.
Following the target goal of 10k, all money will go to Barnabas.
