FED UP! Rally

Donation protected
I am the mother of a deceased opioid addict who now advocates Federally and Provincially for drug policy reform in Canada. No other parent or loved one needs to, nor should they have to, go through what I did while navigating our systems for care of a loved one.

My reason for initiating this GoFundMe Campaign is to request your support for a rally that will be held at Queens Park on September 30th, 2015, from 12:00 until 3:00 p.m.

The 2nd annual FED UP! Rally will present the Municipal Drug Strategy Co-ordinator’s Network of Ontario’s report, "Prescription for Life". Our focus is on the need for the opioid reversal drug, Naloxone, to be in the hands of all first responders, which should be inclusive of the real first responders, being family and loved ones. On site training on the use of Naloxone will be made available to attendees through ‘The Works’, a Toronto based out-reach team.

Our second focus is on the need for, and implementation of, Good Samaritan Laws. Fear of criminalization for substance use has proven deadly for substance users.

Information on our first rally held on Parliament Hill, Ottawa, can be found at ruFED UPca, and about me and the advocacy work I do at Jac's Voice.
