On August 21, 2017, the lives of our entire family changed. My father, Rudolph, found he could not walk. His legs simply could not support him! My parents were so scared. He tried countless times to move on his own, then with my mother's help. It was impossible. My mother decided then to call 911 to get my father to the hospital right away. Everything happened so fast yet so slow after that. They ran blood test after blood test; he had xrays, an MRI, a CT scan. No one know what was happening, but the doctor said "Let's admit him and see where we go from here". The next day, the testing continued. I was worried to know what the diagnosis was. Then, I received the call I was dreading. My mother informed me that my father most likely has cancer. I was beyond a wreck! I don't even know how I got home. The hospitalist wanted my father transferred to another, more advanced facility. Two days later, my father arrived at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. There, he had another test: a biopsy to determine whether it was malignancy or something else. Another two days. Finally, the news just got worse. This time, they believed the cancer to have matastisized. It was all through his abdomen and his thoracic spine. My world will never, ever be the same.

My parents are struggling not just emotionally, but also financially. They need our help!! Please, my friends and family; I am imploring to you to help donate. These funds are needed right away to go towards medical expenses and housing costs that my mom, Donna, will be faced with in the next few very uncertain weeks. They arer without health insurance and at this time, no income! God only knows what treatments my father has coming. Please find it in your heart to help my family. Our hearts are breaking. Thank you for everything!

Hello everyone! So here's another update! The good news is my dad is finally home! He's able to ambulate better, but he still needs a walker and wheelchair to get around. The bad news is that my parents need to move by the end of the month. Sometimes, when the light seems to be at the end of the tunnel, something else happens and the light goes out. I'm reaching out to everyone again to please, PLEASE DONATE! If you can't donate, please pass this along. There are so many things going on so I understand. Keep the chain going; Mom and Dad appreciate everyone's help and I'd love to see it reach more people! Thank you! Melody

Help everyone! I am posting another update. I spoke dad and he was telling me that although he can't yet lift his leg all the way, he was able top wiggle his foot! This is tremendous news since just a week ago, he could only drag his leg behind him. Of course, Dad was still a little perturbed he couldn't lift his leg, but that's just him. He told my mom, "Yea, I wiggled my foot, but I couldn't LIFT my foot." Mom told him it still might be a while and of course, Daddy wants instant results. This is just because he wants to be home with my mom. They hate getting apart. They are partners in life. In fact, I wanted to share this blog Mom wrote a few days ago. You can seen it at

Sorry everyone! My last update posted without me finishing! Again, thank you to everyone who has donated! I reached my first small goal and my mother's mind is more at ease. Please keep sharing so I can get to the big goal!

An update on Rudy: My dad seems to be responding well to the first treatment. He told me yesterday that his right leg feels stronger and that makes me hopeful. He is still asking for prayers and hopes to be strong enough to go home in a few weeks. I am beyond grateful for all of you who have stopped by and paid a visit! I've always known how much my father was loved and you have shown that to him. You have lifted his spirits!
As for my mom, she is back home and working hard to get everything sorted out. Again, because of what has been donated so far, she is more relaxed. She is busting out paperwork and hopes to have everything completed very soon!

Please keep this campaign going!! Our big goal is getting easier and easier to reach because of all of you! My heart is full and tears fill my eyes every time I see a new donation come in. I just want this to be easier for my parents. My father was the sole source of income and the medical bills are already starting to come in. Please, please share! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! Melody ♥️
