Ashley Owen's End of Life Care

Please help us raise money for Ashley, who is a twenty-nine year old mother, family member, and friend to so many. Ashley has Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and has begun end of life hospice treatment at Hospice of the Valley. In people with CF, a defective gene causes a thick, buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs. In the lungs, the mucus clogs the airways and traps bacteria leading to infections, extensive lung damage and eventually, respiratory failure. In the pancreas, the mucus prevents the release of digestive enzymes that allow the body to break down food and absorb vital nutrients.

It breaks my heart to say that Ashley's organs are failing. Like to so many others, Ashley has been a very close friend and has become my family. More importantly her children are two of the most beautiful and intelligent kids I have ever met. We would love your support to help Ashley's mother Pat pay for medical and funeral expenses, which have become overwhelmingly expensive. If there is any extra money raised, it will go into an account for her son Ryan who is eight years old and smarter than you'd ever believe, and her four year-old daughter Taylor who is beautiful and looks and acts just like her mom.
