4th Annual Great RSMF Fundraiser

Stand Strong for the Arts in Santa Rosa

The Railroad Square Music Festival is a free event that returns annually to celebrate and shine a spotlight on our North Bay creative community- all within a day of multi-genre and multilingual music in the heart of Santa Rosa, CA. This is the 4th Annual Railroad Square Music Festival - a free festival in the heart of Santa Rosa, CA.

This is an event for the community - by the community. The mission of the Railroad Square Music Festival is to expand our local music community by bringing more music to new people, to encourage our local performers to shoot for the stars, and to show that the North Bay is a vibrant cultural and artistic hub.

It Takes a Village…

This is a free festival and an epic undertaking with tons of hours of volunteer work. The festival is not for profit and runs entirely on sponsorship and donations!

Sonoma County is a beautiful epicenter of creative work and we want to continue to provide a space to showcase original music from across the county. We need donations to make this festival run - for free, forever. We want the entire community to feel that they are participating in, creating and taking ownership of this festival.

Risks & Challenges

We depend on your gratuity to make the RSMF happen and to help it grow. This year our dream that you can take the SMART straight into the festival, into a city alive and thriving with art and music - will be a reality!

The smallest donation could make the difference in the success of this year’s festival - from paying the bands to feeding the volunteers. Please invest what you can in the future of original Sonoma County art!

Growing Strong Community

Voted “Best Outdoor Music Festival” three years in a row by readers of the North Bay Bohemian, The Railroad Square Music Festival continues to be a uniquely Sonoma County event produced by local artists, musicians, and makers, for kindred lovers of creative diversity. Headlined by the North Bay’s goldmine of outstanding local talent, this festival is a unique showing of what makes our region special; a representative love letter to our home.

2018 will be the first time that the SMART Train will be active during the festival. Attendees from North Santa Rosa to San Rafael can avoid parking, and be safely delivered to the doorstep of this free event.

Santa Rosa is rebuilding after the fires of 2017, and the Railroad Square Music Festival will be a large public display of our resilience and strength. It promises to be a day for the community to come together and stand strong for the arts, collectively showing that this tragedy will only inspire our creativity and strengthen the community of the North Bay.

Have you been?

We hope you’ll join us this year. Here’s a video to give you a better idea of what we’re about. Here’s a supercut for those trying to save time. RSMF has an ongoing partnership with Santa Rosa’s “Out There in the Middle of Everything” project. The City has filmed live videos of local performers at the festival every year in their portable studio (2016 here ) (2015 here , here , here , and here ). RSMF and Santa Rosa also teamed up to make a compilation album of North Bay musicians, which was released at the 2017 festival (read about it here ).
