Medical Expenses For My Mom

This is quite difficult to write because my family is never one to ask for anything. However, we've recently had a major hit with some very serious medical issues and are asking for help.

The overall goal is to raise some money here for my mom because she will be seeing some hefty medical bills after her hospital stay this time. She is unable to work with her current health conditions and while other family is helping, there's just not enough in our paychecks to get through this difficult time. 

Late in November 2015, mom had gone to the doctor to get set up for a test to check on a type of cancer that runs through our family. During the bloodwork, it turned out that there was a seriously low blood count that was never detected. After a hospital stay and several pints of blood transfused, there was also another problem detected in that there is a large mass that at this point, nobody knows what it is. The possibilities are ranging and the biopsy results have been sent to another lab for analysis. We have not as of yet learned the results of this biopsy. However, this mass is also pushing on other vital organs resulting in acute kidney failure and other issues that have resulted in a procedure for an IVC filter (to prevent blood clots from moving into areas where they can be fatal), and a nephrostomy tube for each kidney. At this time we do not know if these tubes may be permanent or temporary. Either way, there is some rather expensive dressings and other considerations with these tubes which funds raised would go towards in addition to any hospital bills that are not covered by medicare.

We will be meeting with a case manager through the hospital to gain more specifics and this campaign will be updated as more information becomes available. 

Anything raised through this campaign would be directly applied to expenses incurred with her hospitalizations and follow up care as needed. Help is needed now as these bills will soon be piling up.

Any donation is greatly appreciated. We honestly would not be making this page if the need wasn't great at this time. My mom and dad have always worked hard and earned everything that they had. The decision to create this campaign was a difficult one, but a necessary one. My father passed away in 1993 and since then, my mom and I have been there for each other, even when nobody else has been. This page is another way that I can help her, but I can't do it without your help. No amount is too small and as stated, every penny raised would go towards her medical needs, nothing else.
