Who is Rigpé Shyönnu?
In 2016 a group of young Rigpa students took initiative to revive Rigpe Shyönnu, the Rigpa Sangha’s youth programme. Our vision is to build friendship and support among young practitioners and foster spiritual growth and progression on the buddhist path.
Why are we doing this?
Just before entering into retreat himself, Sogyal Rinpoche urged the young to put all their effort into becoming stable practitioners and to really face ourselves. Inspired by that, we, a group of 7 Shyönnu students, want to enter a one month retreat on the Longchen Nyingthik Ngöndro beginning on the 29th of April 2018.
Where?
The event will take place in and is supported by Khenpo Namdrol’s retreat centre in Pharping, Nepal. Most of our group will be attending shedra programmes such as the Rigpa Shedra and Rangjung Yeshe University beforehand.
What is the long term goal?
Our aspiration for this event is to continue holding retreats over the coming years, for even longer periods of time, with more people. We know that intensive, committed practice will make a shift in our beings and find genuine stability in the dharma and ultimately become holders of the lineage.

There are 7 people currently aspiring to attend this retreat. They have all been practicing Ngondro for at least 2 years and are involved in various study and practice programmes. General costs per person for the 30 days:
400€ for accommodation, food, offerings, travel insurance, and visa costs
Travel fund:
1200€ for retreat master, teachers and retreatants who need support in financing travels
