For the 4th year in a row, our Salem Avenue Elementary Team, Salem’s DI of the Tiger, has placed 1st at the Maryland Destination Imagination State Tournament! We will be traveling to Kansas City, Missouri to compete in the Global Finals competition. It is a unique opportunity for our team to interact with students from around the world as they expand their creative problem-solving STEAM skills. We are raising funds to help offset the cost of lodging and meals for the team. Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated!
Destination Imagination is an educational, non-profit organization that fosters student empowerment through hands-on, collaborative, project-based challenges. Each DI team selects one category from the list of seven challenges to focus their efforts on for the year. All elements of the challenge are researched, created, engineered, and performed by the students. In addition, teams compete in an Instant Challenge the day of competition. Both of these challenges require innovation, creativity, teamwork, and collaboration.
