Marley needs our help with surgery costs. Marley went in for emergency surgery for GVD on Tuesday June 12 with Meyerthorpe Vet. She then had to be transferred to Guardian Vet in Edmonton where she required a further surgery to help save her life. This morning after talking to Guardian Vet, Marley looks to be on the right track and we will have further updates later today.
The approximate costs so far for her care is $14,000

This is a term that is synonymous with the more scientific term Gastric Dilatation/Volvulus (GDV). Dilatation means that the stomach is distended with air, but it is located in the abdomen in its correct place. Volvulus means that the distension is associated with a twisting of the stomach on its longitudinal axis. GDV is a rare but very serious disease that frequently causes death
