Balto Needs Emergency Surgery

Donation protected
Hi everyone, we are in desperate need of help and prayers. We are Balto's parents, Dylan Serna and Ashlee Herrera and we need your help getting our Corgi the emergency surgery he needs to save his life. On Saturday, June 1st, our sweet 9 year old baby boy Balto, woke up and was having trouble urinating with uncontrollable vomiting.  We rushed him to the vet as we watched him continue to strain to relieve his full bladder. We thought it was perhaps a UTI, but it has turned out to be much worse. Currently, Balto has 10 + bladder stones completely stuck in his urethra. Doctors have continued to try to give him a catheter, but the blockage/stones have proved too severe. Doctors tried 5 different catheters and they were all unsuccessful and they were concerned they would tear his urethra if they continued to try. Due to this, Balto had an emergency procedure done today at 3am to drain his bladder and place a catheter from the inside. Doctors removed more than 150 MLs of bloody urine. This is important because if the bladder gets too full, the urine will leak into the intestines which can cause a potentially fatal bacterial infection. While prepping him for the internal catheter surgery, they realized he had also developed pneumonia with fluid on his lungs. He still needs surgery to remove all the stones and doctors will have to create a new hole for him to urinate. However, he currently is not stable enough to move forward with anything and has also developed pus/a possible infection in the abdomen as well. Balto cannot have this surgery he needs to save his life until he is stable enough to be put under anesthesia and his catheter has to remain in place and needs 24/7 vet care with pain management meds, antibiotics, x rays, blood tests... the list is pages long and that's not including the cost of the surgery and the cost for him to continue to stay in the Vets care. But the medical surgeon and Vet are confident in the success of surgery once he is stable, and his quality of life after all this is done still looks promising and it is possible for him to make a full recovery...We are already $7,000 in with just trying to keep him alive and stable and in the doctors care... He will need to stay at the vet through his recovery and his stay will be extensive after his surgery and we have nothing left. The $7,000 we have spent so far is everything we have. We are both still in college and do not have anymore resources. But we cannot give up on our boy. He still has fight in him and the Vets and surgeons are still remaining confident and hopeful, but we need help. We did not want to ask anyone for help and thought we had enough to get our baby healthy and back home but we just do not. We are asking for help and honestly ANYTHING will help us, even if you just pray for us and our baby, anything will help. Dylan and I have been together for almost 12 years and do not have any children, Balto is our child. He is our baby, our world. This pain has been like nothing I have ever felt and I am not ready for Goodbye. I need him. Please anything helps. Thank you everyone will be keep you all updated.
