Supporting Puerto Rico

$1,495 of $6,000 goal

Raised by 18 people in 7 months
Nearly 2 months after Hurricane Maria made landfall roughly 70% of Puerto is without power or water.

Our mission is to adopt a mountain in Yabucoa Puerto Rico nicknamed, “La Montaña de Los Colones”.

The mountain is approximately 45 miles outside of San Juan.
The Colon family has occupied this mountain for more then 100 Years.
There are approximately 200 hundred families who currently live on the mountain.
Hurricane Maria made landfall near Yabucoa and the Colon family mountain was hit extremely hard.

On my recent visit to Puerto Rico, one of the places that I stopped to donate goods & monies collected was on the "Colon Mountain".
I can't begin to describe to you what I saw while driving through the area. I do know that while driving I thought to myself, I haven't even left Puerto Rico yet and I need to hurry up and get back to HELP!

My dear friend Ivette Colon who's family lives on this mountain and I will be travelling to Yabucoa to continue to help in the relief efforts.
We hope to raise enough money the evening of the event and through the gofundme page to purchase 3 generators for the school.
The generators will allow people on the mountain to come to the school every day to bring water back to their homes.
We are also accepting gift cards from the following stores ONLY Walmart, Costco and Home Depot.
We welcome you to bring actual gift cards from these stores to the event as well.

We will also be using the money donated to purchase power inverters to bring with us to Yabucoa.
Both inverters and generators are nowhere to be found in Puerto Rico.

Our goal is to touch down in San Juan rent a van, shop for goods & employ some of the Colon family members to help us distribute the items both at the community center and door to door.

If you can not attend the event and would still like to donate gift cards from these stores please feel free to drop them off at the following locations.

It will take a very long time for the Island to heal and it is "US" that will help them get there!

Puerto Rico, The Colon Families, Ivette Colon and myself thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
