Royal Ballet Center

During our recent trip to Tapachula in Chiapas, Mexico, we had the pleasure of meeting Ana Andrea Javier McKeever.  This woman is a phenomenal force, owning both an English language school as well as a ballet studio. This ballet studio is no ordinary studio because it sits in the middle of a city deep in the south of Mexico where ballet is truly an anomaly.  One of her students was accepted into the Bolshoi School of Moscow and is currently a student there!

Sra. Javier-McKeever and her daughter work very diligently to provide the city with a level of culture through ballet that is very well received and also highly unexpected in a city where its citizens are often struggling economically.  This has not deterred Sra. Javier-McKeever, who uses much of her own money to support her efforts.

We are asking for donations, however large or small, to help fund a live orchestra for the upcoming performance of Don Quijote.  This will be the only the second time that the ballet will be performing with a live orchestra, having used taped accompaniment in the past.

Music literally has tranformed my life and the lives of many others, both in my family and also among some of my dearest friends.  I love the way music transcends lanugage and culture and nowhere is this more evident than in the city of Tapachula where first class ballet is presented to several overflow audiences of 1,000! 

I love the way Sra. Javier-McKeever has the heart and soul to provide her city with a level of performance that is unmatched.

I love the way  Sra. Javier-McKeever yearns to assist others, often paying with her own money to present the ballets as well as to send her students off to far off lands to continue with their ballet studies!

I love the way that Sra, Javier-McKeever has surrounded herself with a creative group of people who are inspired by talented children.

I love that Sr. Javier-McKeever asks little of others, but just that they enjoy her passion of ballet.
