We have reached our goal and any funds exceeding the goal will be distributed to RCS. RCS is the local non-profit organization that runs the homeless shelter and soup kitchen in New Bern. RCS also manages the Craven County Disaster relief for Hurricane Florence.

Original message; We started this GoFundme account for Tom, Laura, Jonathan and new born Juliana Rowlands to help after the storm surge from Hurricane Florence wiped out 90 to 95% of their personal belongings. Laura gave birth to Juliana as Florence was hitting New Bern last week. They had been preparing for baby Juliana for months, getting the nursery just right. All the little things that go into a nursery now lost. Laura had also meticulously planned meals for weeks and and all the little details that go with it. Jonathan left with Tom's sister before the storm and has not seen what's happened to his home. His furniture along with almost all his toys were ruined in the flood. While they have insurance, it will not cover all that was lost and with the backlogs and volume of claims, it will be a while before all is settled.
