Rover.com sitter killed my dog

Last weekend, I placed my two dogs in the care of Rover.com pet sitter Seonaid H. while I went out of town for a week. Her profile said she had one friendly female German shepherd and a fenced yard, which sounded great for them both.
Two days later I received an email stating that Wally, my 9lb miniauture dachshund of 10 years, had died instantly after being attacked by a known aggressive mastiff that was on my sitter's property unbeknownst to me. She had taken her sister's known aggressive 150lb dog and locked him in a shoddy pen next to a broken deck and neither she or Rover alerted me of this dog's presence just a couple feet away from my two beloved dogs. This resulted in a very gruesome death for Wally as she negligently left him unattended and he was able to walk right over to the pen and got instantly attacked by this dog. To add insult to injury, she drove his dead body to a Banfield Pet Hospital and then abandoned it there.
Later that night, my friend went with the Commerce City police department to pick up my other dog. She asked all the questions such as why a dog sitter would allow an aggressive 150lb mastiff only a couple feet from people's pets in her care and why she would not secure her backyard to be safe for dogs and was met with only excuses and blame shifted to everything and everyone but herself. The mastiff growled at the police officers as it stood in its pen full of trash. All Seonaid H. had to say was "at least she still has one dog."
Upon contacting Rover.com, they simply apologized and wished me a good day. Wally was my best friend for almost 10 years, and he was to make it for several more but his life was gruesomely taken away due to gross negligence. Rover.com plasters a ton of false security on their website such as "guaranteed" and "verified" and the like yet when they actually are responsible for your dog being murdered, they simply told me sorry and to carry on with my life. They were not even sure they were going to terminate Seonaid H. as a sitter from their site. The worst is that they claim to be "The Dog People" and yet they are perfectly content allowing pets to die in their care as long as they're getting paid for it. They do not inspect their sitter's homes and do not even interview their sitters.
I have chosen an attorney to represent myself and Wally in this case of gross negligence with animals against Rover.com and their sitter Seonaid H. They have years of experience and accomplishments regarding the well being of and laws protecting animals. I do not want Wally's death to be in vain or allow this to happen to anyone else's beloved pets and I hope you will stand beside me in support. Pets are family and their lives do matter.
