2019 Roswell Robotics - Oscar GOES to WORLDS!

Tax deductible
Roswell Robotics  - Team 832 OSCAR is a true team of outstanding students from all different walks of life coming together to creating an awesome robot and embody the ideals of FIRST.

OSCAR = Outstanding Students Creating Awesome Robots

Mission

Our mission is to aid in the development of future engineers and technologist by designing, modeling, programming, and building a complex robot on time, on budget, through the appropriate use of engineering rigor and business planning.

So far OSCAR has competed in one FRC Qualifier and they did extremely well! They made it into the final matches and lost to an extremely competitive alliance by only three points. They also won the Team Spirit award. They are well situated, if they remain on their current trajectory, to make it into the FIRST World's Competition again this year in Houston. .   If they  do make it, it will be the 3rd year in a row that they will have qualified for the FIRST World's competition, which is an unbelievable accomplishment! Even though the students have been working hard all season on fundraising and they have obtained two important sponorships with Rockwell Automation and DOW, they still need YOUR help in order to travel to Houston for the competition.  The entry fees are VERY expensive plus the team will have to travel. Roswell Robotics is a verified 501C so any contributions will be tax deductible. No donations are too small. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us in our journey to Worlds!

Next week we will be competing in our second district qualifier in Albany, Ga.  We will post updates on how it is going. Think good thoughts for us so that we will continue to have a great season! Please see below for more information about Oscar and FIRST as an organization.

Team Summary

Date Team Began: 2001

Our vision is to inspire students to pursue educational and career opportunities in science, technology, and engineering through competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge. The Roswell High School Robotics Team was founded in 2001 with a mission to inspire students to pursue educational and career opportunities in science, technology, and engineering through competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition. Each year, we design, model and build a unique complex robot on time within a tight budget and under rigid engineering constraints. Roswell Robotics was founded as Chimera by Roswell Student Paul Luffel and physics teacher Bill Reed with eight students. Oscar now has 40 members and 7 mentors.
