Rose Simonsen Franke Scholarship

Donation protected
Our beautiful daughter, and beloved sister, Rose Simonsen Franke, left this world on October 13, 2018.

In her young 23 years, she was following her dreams and lived life to the fullest.  She was an all inclusive selfless woman, who inspired others to follow their dreams.  She was a decorated gymnast and graduated with high honors from UW LaCrosse in 2017 with a bachelors in Business/Economics and a minor in Latin American Studies.  Her study abroad experience was in 2016 in Chile.  After graduation she returned to the country she fell in love with to follow her dreams, lovingly known as la gringa loca.   She became further involved in the local surf community, helped to teach surfing and continued involvement with adaptive surfing.

We want to honor Rose by giving others the chance to follow their dreams.   Through this page you can help us honor her memory through 2 different charities.

We would like to give another student the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to study abroad in Chile.  The student should have a passion for sports, the environment, and making the world a better place for the next generation.

We will honor Rose’s commitment to helping people of all abilities find the same peace through surfing that she did.  An adaptive surfing program is for disabled and special needs children.  Rose loved teaching kids to surf.
