This year brought about one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life. When I was hired as the new manager of the Chateau, the prospect was both daunting and exciting -- to be given the responsibility of taking care of one of Butte's most beloved buildings was not something I took up lightly.
In conjunction with my duties as the Chateau manager, I became a founding member of The Root & The Bloom Collective. Our group is an educational organization dedicated to preserving and maintaining the Clark Chateau as an historic site, and bringing quality educational and humanities programming to the Butte-Silver Bow community and, someday, beyond. We take our name from a Jungian metaphor for the relationship between our collective unconscious and its manifestation as culture — our shared roots, and the blossoms they produce.
We are raising money this Giving Tuesday and throughout the holiday season so that The Root & The Bloom can begin applying for nonprofit status. Your contribution will pay for document processing and other fees, and will help us build our financial foundation.
When Carson Becker and I started out the season, our idea for The Root & The Bloom Collective was still a distant dream. Now we have board members, community supporters, and the determination to make our dream a reality.
