Teddy Roosevelt School Visit

Donation protected
Roosevelt School in Redwood City, CA is a K-8 public school that has educated students since 1951.  Our school was named after former U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt. In fact, the school's mascot used to be the Rough Rider. At some point in our school's history, the mascot was changed to a raccoon and the knowledge that the school was named after Teddy Roosevelt and not Franklin D. Roosevelt (or perhaps even Eleanor Roosevelt) was lost.

Our school is planning on a Teddy Roosevelt Day on February 11, 2015 to celebrate our school and also to educate our students about our nation's 26th president. A big part of this celebration is a visit from a Teddy Roosevelt reprisor. This visitor has performed at the White House for the 150th birthday celebration of Theodore Roosevelt during the George W. Bush administration. Our visitor will visit each classroom to tell stories and teach the students about Teddy Roosevelt's early life, presidency and legacy of our nation's National Parks.

Our PTA would like to raise the $3,000 that we need to pay for the assembly and travel costs. In addition, the reprisor has volunteered his time while in Redwood City to offer free performances for the Rotary Club and Public Library. We want to make all of this happen, but we can't do it without the help of donors.

Please help us raise the needed funds to bring this great educational experience to the students of Roosevelt School.

Our PTA is a registered 501c3 and all donations are tax-deductible.
